Thank Goodness God Knows Our Hearts Desires

Studying God’s word throughout the years seems to always guide me to the word “REFLECTIONS.” Throughout my years of growing up I have always looked into a mirror with a focus on the imperfections I could see and the things I would change about myself if I could. I am guilty of focusing on the outward appearance more so than the inward. I have bought things to decrease wrinkles, make my lashes longer, my lips plumper, and even went to the extreme of having permanent makeup tattooed on my face. I’ve bought clothes to make me appear thinner and shoes to make me taller. Yet, I knew that God didn’t care about any of this, He only cares about our heart. I wasn’t perfecting myself for Him, I was doing it for me. The “id” was coming out in me. These items did cover my outward impurities until I washed my face at bedtime, but they didn’t perfect me into what God wanted from me. MY HEART! All the while my heart was striving to perfect my outward appearance and what it was lacking from the inside out. God cares only about my inward heart, that’s where He looks for perfection. His desire for us is to grow in Love, Character, and to seek his face daily. Acts – 15:8-9 (And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith).
